perfect colors

Lately, one of my favorite magazines has been Cottage Living. Don't let the name fool you, this little magazine is great as a small space magazine and has very stylish articles - no Laura Ashley in sight!! This month's issue, (march 2008 ) has the PERFECT small house in it from Atlanta.

the beautiful kitchen

The owner, the daughter of an interior designer, bought the house primarily for the gardens and didn't want the interiors to compete. These beautiful calming interiors are just my cup of tea! I love the french greys and warm tones, perfect for having accessories POP and coming home after a long hard day at the office.

She's my kind of gal and hates clutter -it's all hidden away, but the downside: this rusty garden bench in the bedroom is sort of cute, but I'd be scared of it. You shouldn't need a tetnus shot just to enter your bedroom. SHABBY CHIC IS OVER, people. But I LOVE this cozy bed with the white sheets and all the soothing browns and grays.

This bathroom is my DREAM bathroom - I love the retro sink and all the tile. Having a window infront of your sink like this is probably such a nice way to wake up in the morning - as long as it faces NORTH. Facing into the full sun would suck! Painting the trim to match the tile was ingenius -I just love that look!
